My name is Alexey Kurochkin. I was born in 1972 in Moscow, Russia. After graduating from Moscow Aviation Institute with diploma in applied mathematics and computer science in 1996 I started my career as a programmer. Now I am working as chief research and development officer in IT company.
When I was six years old my father gave me Smena-2 camera already loaded with a film. Well… That first attempt was complete disaster. The whole film was ruined due to severe exposure mistakes, not a single frame survived. But since those times I am trying to improve my photo skills. So, photography was always a hobby, but now it is a hobby with 40+ years history.
Also I am fond of photo optics and have little collection of old photo lenses.
I see photography as a marvelous way to document reality surrounding us and thus I like the Wikimedia Commons approach. I do like if you find my photos useful. Please, do not hesitate to use them, download, copy, distribute or make derivatives.
Some technical remarks:
All my photos are taken in raw format and processed with RawTherapy, PhotoScape or Affinity Photo. Sometimes I use also Panorama Stitcher for panoramas. If you need a raw file, please, contact me and I will send you DNG for an image published here on Wikimedia Commons.
