Interior of the Cathedral of Brasília, Brazil. Designed by Oscar Niemeyer and engineered by Joaquim Cardozo, the cathedral is a hyperboloid structure constructed from 16 concrete columns, weighing 90 tons each. Its construction was completed on this day in 1970.
